To the Personalities of the Founding Protocol of the Bulgarian Geographical Society

Abstract

The article covers all 27 persons registered in the Founding protocol of the Bulgarian Geographic Society. Namely, these are 23 founding members and four other persons who did not attend the founding meeting. Two documents have been published – a copy of the Founding protocol of the Bulgarian Geographic Society, 1918 and a list of the founding members. Each of the 27 persons from the political, cultural, scientific and economic elite of Bulgaria in the past is presented through brief biographical notes. These include the names of one general, two prime ministers, five ministers, five ambassadors, six rectors, eight journalists, ten members of the parliament, ten academicians, one correspondent- member as well as a total of 13 professors. Only four of them are professionally involved in geography – Prof. Anastas Ishirkov, Prof. Zheko Radev, Zhecho Chankov and Ivan Pastuhov.
